We offer an extensive range of services to our clients which are described in detail below. For each relocation assignment, we will choose services from this list and develop a program that addresses the specific needs of the company or individual. We are able to adapt our programs to meet any allocated time frame or to meet any budgetary restraints.

Pre – Departure

Prior to departure from their existing home, the transferee will be provided with information about the destination city including its lifestyle and culture. This ensures that they will have an idea of what to expect when they arrive in the new city for the first time.

This service may be used by companies to assist potential employees making a decision on whether or not to accept a new posting that will require relocation.

Our consultants will take a briefing on the current lifestyle of the transferee and develop an understanding of what aspects of their lifestyle they expect to replace in the city of transfer. Analysis of the data from our questionnaire completed by the family will immediately indicate areas of focus and need.

We will establish and identify housing, education, and personal requirements of the transferee and undertake early research to properly match those requirements with the property market, educational authorities and other resources in the new location.

Recommendations and quotes for removalists can be provided to the client or the transferee as well as specialist information on the transportation of cars and pets.

Temporary accommodation in the destination city in a serviced apartment, hotel or as required by the transferee will be booked.

Migration Services

This service is provided in association with our associate Government-registered Immigration Consultant. We handle the preparation of all necessary documentation and submissions and liaise with all relevant Government departments. We offer advice on, and carry out applications for, all types of visas.

Ashton Relocations can provide current information on immigration procedures and regulations around the world.

The Arrival and Orientation

The relocating individual or family will be met at the airport or at their temporary accommodation on arrival to the destination city.

One of our consultants will accompany the individual or family on an orientation tour of the city and suburbs demonstrating major sites, commuting options, advantages and disadvantages of suburban areas, recreational facilities, medical facilities, entertainment, shopping, local and private schooling.

A briefing on the housing market and options available within the established rent ceiling or budget limits will be discussed.

Orientation kits are provided including street directory, maps, tourist and recreational activity guides, transport guides, emergency telephone numbers and data specific to individual concerns.

Home Search

The very idea of finding a suitable property in a foreign city, in an appropriate area can be a daunting and stressful experience. Using the home search services offered by Ashton Relocations helps ease this stress and ensures that the relocating individual or family will be able to choose a property that will closely match their culture and lifestyle.

Following the detailed assessment of the relocating individual or family’s housing requirements, our consultants will have an accurate understanding of the types of properties they might like to consider and the areas that would be most suitable.

Drawing on our close liaison with the destination city’s top real estate agents, we are able to easily find suitable properties and in most cases access properties before they are listed publicly.

We will create an itinerary for the inspection of suitable properties and accompany the relocating individual or family to the inspections.

Once a property has been chosen, our consultant will take care of all of the administrative duties that accompany the transition. We will assist in the negotiation of favourable lease terms and with the signing of the necessary documentation.

Should the transferee be interested in purchasing a home in the destination city, we are able to advise and support them with the purchase. We are able to source suitable properties for sale in the areas preferred by the transferee, negotiate purchase prices with agents, attend auctions and assist the buyer with contracts, loan applications and the like.

Settling In

All necessary services will be connected to the home including telephone, gas and electricity. The property will be prepared for the family’s arrival, an unpacking service organised, and ancillary services such as gardeners, cleaners and pool maintenance commenced where necessary.

We will coordinate the leasing or purchase of furniture.

A community profile will be provided including details of local service providers, doctors, dentists, specialist shops, public transport, local council matters and the like.

We are able to offer assistance in establishing bank accounts, tax file number, insurance and private heath fund registration.

We can organise enrolment in language schools and arrange introductions to community groups, sporting and other clubs.

Child Care and Education Program

When moving to a foreign environment, families need the assurance that their children will be well cared for during the move and throughout the duration of the relocation posting. The consultants at Ashton Relocations have the expertise to advise families on child care and educational facilities from pre – school to university.

We are able to organise nannies for long-term placements as well as day-to-day babysitting placements, which may be very useful for families during the busy “settling in” period and throughout their stay.

Our education consultants will offer relocating families a comprehensive guide to their children’s educational options in their new home city. This service may be required before the relocating family leaves their home city as an understanding of the educational facilities available may make up a large part of the family’s decision to accept the post in the unfamiliar city

We will take a detailed assessment of children’s educational needs and brief the family on the educational facilities available. This briefing will include information on kindergartens, state and private schools and tertiary institutions. The briefing will focus on the different facilities taking into consideration religious affiliation, compatibility of curriculum with previous school, language facilities, and any other special needs the family may require.

Contact will be made with selected schools and appointments made where placement is a possibility. This meeting between school authorities, parents and child enables each party to discuss options and suitability.

Enrolment in the selected school will be arranged and documentation and entry papers organised. Assistance with curriculum, purchase of uniforms and books is available.

Partner Support

The success of an assignment in a foreign city is largely related to the ability of the relocating individual and his or her family to adapt to the new culture and environment. The inability of the accompanying spouse or partner to adapt to the new situation is the single most important factor responsible for the failure of a relocation assignment Therefore at Ashton Relocations we offer our clients a scrupulous service that cares for the accompanying partner.

The consultants at Ashton Relocations have experience and expertise in the field of recruitment. Should the accompanying partner wish to further their career in the destination city, we are able to assist them with resume preparation, interview techniques, career path planning and job search.

We organise social get togethers for accompanying partners. This gives partners the chance to share their experiences with people in a similar situation and this can often help them with the adaptation process.

Introductions to community groups, language schools, sporting clubs and social networks are made depending on the interests of the accompanying partners.

We offer a special program to the partners of families relocating to Melbourne. This looks at the impact of relocation on family life and the wide variety of opportunities that Melbourne has to offer. The program includes outings, lunches and a host of useful information.

On-Going Support

The total resources of our relocation service remain available to our client families for as long as they express a need for relocation support.

We will regularly make contact with relocatees and their families to ensure that they are content in their new homes and beginning to make a life for themselves within the new city’s culture.

Our consultants are available 7 days a week for information, advice or support.
